Stieff Silver - Office Building Renovation - Baltimore City, MD
SVA provided the mechanical, electrical and plumbing (M/E/P) design for the adaptive reuse of the existing historic Stieff Silver building in the Hamden area of Baltimore City. The building consists of two wings, the original three story, 45,000 square foot building constructed in 1928, and the attached two story 55,000 square foot building addition constructed in 1970. The building is being converted to high tech multi-tenant office space by Struever Brothers Eccles and Rouse. Tenants include architects Grieves, Worrall, Wright and O'Hatnick, landscape architects Mahan Rykiel, Parks and People, People Encouraging People and the Johns Hopkins University Center for Non-Destructive Testing. Mechanical systems include new rooftop variable air volume air handling units, new plumbing and fire protection sprinklers throughout. Ductwork is generally exposed within the building to provide a high-tech warehouse ambiance. Electrical systems include a new 3,600 ampere 480/277 volt electric service, new lighting, receptacles and fire alarm systems. SVA worked with the project technology consultant to provide adequate raceways and service entrance facilities for state-of-the-art telecommunications facilities. ![]() 7526 Harford Road - Baltimore, MD - 21234-6944 Phone 410.254.5800 - Fax 410.254.7091 www.SpearsVotta.com Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Plumbing Engineers, Lighting, Alarm & Communications Designers
